Onboarding of a new team member?

  

Successful onboarding of a new team member is important and it plays a very critical role in having collaboration among the team members and maintaining the team's Productivity.


Below are some of the pointers that can be considered while onboarding a new team member –

🎯 Pre-requisites --> Ensure the Workspace, Laptop (along with required Software and set-ups), etc. are ready and the current team members are aware of the joining of a new team member.

🎯 Welcome and Introduction --> Set up a meeting and welcome the new team member and introduce him/her to the current team members. Ensure the team members are getting engaged in the conversation and sharing a bit about themselves.

🎯 Buddy --> Assign an experienced team member as a buddy to the new team member. Ensure that the assigned Buddy can assist him/her with the queries or required information.

🎯 Training & Resources --> Provide adequate training and resources related to the Company, Products, Processes, Tools, etc. Set up meetings with SMEs as applicable in the given context.

🎯 Team Building --> Organize a few team-building activities to aid the new member in bonding with the other team members.

🎯 Helping hand --> Remember; to get the maximum benefit from any Tool/Process/Framework/Methodology; everyone in the team should understand, adopt, and practice it well. Hence; ensure the new team member is feeling comfortable with the other team members and provide him/her adequate time to catch up on the Processes, Tools, Product knowledge, etc.
